REGISTRATION OF SMALL SCALE WATER SERVICE PROVIDERS
Section 85(1) of the Water Act 2016 provides that a person shall not provide water services unless under the authority of a license issued by the Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB). Pursuant to this section, all water services system operators who supply water services in all 47 counties in Kenya must register their operations with WASREB. This requirement applies to the following category of operators who have NOT registered with WASREB previously:
- Community water projects
- Gated community water providers/Housing Development Company Water Projects
- Private/individual water operators
- Public Benefit/Non-Governmental Organization (PBOs/NGO) water projects

Note that the registration process is online, and no hard copies of the forms will be accepted.
DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION

Please note that it is an offense to provide water services without a license.
